Queen Mary and King Frederik joined Queen Margrethe in Fredensborg today ahead of her birthday celebrations, after they were caught cold on a family skiing trip over Easter.

The royal couple, Queen Margrethe and her sister, Princess Benedikte, stood outside the palace next to Margrethe’s sausage dog named Tilia, who was also there.

The family celebrated privately at Fredensborg Castle, a venue used for important family events such as weddings, silver wedding anniversaries and birthdays.
