Milan Design Week Opens with Events and Exhibitions at Salone del Mobile and Across the City
When Milan Design Week begins, the Italian city is transformed into one of the most extensive design festivals in the world, with its streets and squares filled with cultural events, exhibitions, large-scale installations , interviews and meetings. At Rho Fiera, the 62nd edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano brings together designers, architects, manufacturers and leading people in the world of design, with more than 1950 readers that will remain open for 6 days coming. In addition, throughout the city Fuorisalone opens spaces throughout the city with an attractive and diverse cultural program.
For this edition of Salone del Mobile, the program includes focused exhibitions such as EuroCucina as well as more than 1900 readers. The fair focuses on confidence, comfort and stability, with serious buildings such as David Lynch’s “Thinking Rooms. ” Organizations prioritize human-centered approaches, integrating neuroscience to improve the guest experience. Installations by Formafantasma and others are thought-provoking, while lectures organized by Annalisa Rosso feature celebrities such as Francis Kéré and Jeanne Gang, who talk about artificial intelligence and hospitality design.
Popular spaces such as DropCity, Porta Venezia Design District, and Alcova provide a platform for alternative design reviews, performance discussions, and contemporary art exhibitions. Brera Design Week transforms the historic environment into a center for various exhibitions and performances, while the Isola Design Festival challenges designers to solve global problems through collaboration and innovation. Università degli Studi di Milano also opens its grounds for exhibitions, including installations by MAD Architects and Kengo Kuma & Associates.
